- every colour Put a different colour in every well of the palette.

- wood brown Leave the canvas on the easel blank, or paint whatever you like on it.
The palette wells and the paint splashes should use every colour you own. It is the one drawing where restraint would be the wrong instinct.
Things to know about Hello Kitty painting
- The hole in a painter's palette is for the thumb, and it sits off centre so the weight balances on the forearm.
- Brushes are still measured in the old numbering where the smallest sizes run backwards, from 1 down to 10/0.
