About this Fairy Hello Kitty coloring page
Two large wings spread behind her, each divided into cells like a stained glass window, with a wand and scattered sparkles. The wings hold most of the detail.
How to color Fairy Hello Kitty
- lilac Colour the wing cells one at a time, pressing lightly throughout.
- turquoise Shift gradually from one colour at the base to another at the tips.
- Leave the sparkles white and give the wand a gold star.
Wings look best translucent. Colour each cell lightly and let the paper show through, rather than pressing for solid colour.
Things to know about Fairy Hello Kitty
- Butterfly wings get most of their colour from microscopic ridges bending light, not from pigment, which is why they shift as they move.
- Fairies were drawn with insect wings only from the eighteenth century onwards; earlier illustrations gave them none at all.
How do I make wings look see through?
Press lightly and let the paper show through the colour. Solid pressure turns a wing into a leaf.
